Annelin Eriksen is a professor of social anthropology. Her field of research is cultural and religious change , and she has undertaken research in the . South West Pacific, but also on global religious movements. In her most recent research project, she looks at the effects of digital technologies on our conceptions of the human being.
She was awarded the Norwegian academy of science and letters` prize for outstanding research in the humanities and social sciences (“Fylkesaker prisen”) in 2017 together with her husband Knut M Rio. She was the pro-dean for research and research education at the faculty of social sciences in the period 2013-2017 and she has been the vice rector for global relations from 2017 to 2021. She is married and has three daughters.
